We want you to be glad you own this book. If something isn't right, email us at hello@bjjpioneers.com and we'll take care of it.

Pre-order cancellations

Groundswell: The Rise of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in America is currently sold as a pre-order. Your card is charged when you place your order, and the book is expected to ship at the end of September 2026.

You may cancel a pre-order at any time before it ships and receive a full refund, including any shipping charged. Just email hello@bjjpioneers.com with your order number. Once an order has shipped, the return policy below applies instead.

If the printing or shipping schedule changes materially, we will email everyone who has pre-ordered with an updated date. You can cancel for a full refund at that point, or at any time before shipment, for any reason.

Returns

You may return your book within 30 days of delivery. To be eligible, the book must be in its original condition, unread and undamaged, with the slipcase and all original packaging.

To start a return, email hello@bjjpioneers.com with your order number and the reason for the return. We will reply with return instructions and the address to ship to. Items sent back without first requesting a return cannot be accepted.

Return shipping is the customer's responsibility, and the original shipping charge is non-refundable. Because this is a large, heavy book, we strongly recommend a trackable and insured shipping method. We cannot issue a refund for a return that does not reach us.

Damaged, defective, or incorrect items

If your book arrives damaged, defective, or is not what you ordered, email hello@bjjpioneers.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the item and the shipping box. We will send a replacement at no cost to you, or issue a full refund if you would prefer, and you will not be asked to pay return shipping.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will email you to confirm it has been approved. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take additional time for the refund to appear on your statement.
